Youth Summer Mission Trip

This year we will join hundreds of other youths around the country in our lovely city of Orange!

Date: Monday, July 18 - Saturday, July 23
Location: Chapman University Orange, Ca

This is going to be a unique opportunity for us to serve in our community with others you don't want to miss!
*Information Meeting on Wednesday, March 23 at the Moores home at 8:15 p.m.

We will be discussing details about the trip and an overall schedule of what the week will look like.

Thanksgiving Serving!

This year we (Beacon) are helping the El Modena Community Center with their Thanksgiving dinner. They have asked the church to put together some gift baskets to raffle off at the dinner on Tuesday. The serve team at the Beacon has asked that the life groups collect items and make one basket per life group.

Here is where you come in, if you are able to bring an item(s) to donate to a basket, gift card, lotions, movies, etc… and bring it with you on Wednesday evening to youth group we can put together a basket!!

Are not able to bring anything you can still help! You can also donate any new or gently used clothing for the clothing drive we will have at the dinner as well.

There’s more!!! Donate your time; you can help with set-up on Saturday, November 20 anytime from 9am – 3pm at the El Modena Community Center. Also, on Tuesday, November 22 you can help serve dinner and hand out clothing at the Center from 5:30 – 8 p.m.

We are starting at 7pm and going to around 9pm

We are having a competition this week. When you get to youth group you are going to be put on a team with Kristin or I. The competition is going to be on how crazy can you dress up your youth leader? You are encouraged to bring crazy clothes, food, make up, and anything you can think of. This summer we have been getting you messy, now it’s your chance to get us! Bring it!

Summer Fun

So this summer has been one crazy ride for Kristin and I. However its been fun hanging out with all of you on wednesday nights! Here are some pictures during the summer and hopefully Jessica will post the flip video of the other game. BEACH DAY

Ok soo, there is gonna be a beach day on August 23@6pm

It's gonna be at Huntington Beach.

Meet at lifeguard tower 3 where we will then proceed to a nearby fire pit :)

Prayer Request: My grandpa had a heartattack on Friday Aug. 6th. Sat. afternoon he was doing better, but then we find out later that he has nemonia. (sorry about spelling) Your prayers would be greatly appreciated!

I did it! I found out a way to post the slide show. Its not the greatest quality, but it works! So the dvd is done to and I will bring to youth group and we might get a chance to see a little bit if you want. There is a funny video clip of kevin and rudy getting tipped over in the lake! fun stuff!

VBS!

VBS is starting next week and we want you to help!

Hopefully you all remember me and Jon discussing VBS with you a couple of weeks ago but in case you forgot here is all the info.

This year VBS is going to run a little differently, it will be once a week for 5 weeks.

There will be a VBS on Monday and aonther one on Tuesday.

Monday Nights
Dates: July 26, Aug. 2,9,16,23
Location: Kings Home (around the corner from youth group house)
Time: 6- 8:30 p.m.

Tuesday Nights
Dates: July 27, Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24
Location: Somboonsiri's (near ElMo)
Time: 6 - 8:30 p.m.

There will also be a family bbq on August 28 for all the VBS kids and their families.

If you are interested in helping out please let me know and I will send you the exact addresses. Even if you can not make all the nights please consider helping at the ones you can.
